Here are your handy links to everything mentioned in the video.
My gear:
I use a Logitec HD Webcam C270. It’s not hugely expensive, flashy or fancy, but it definitely does the job.
I use a Samson Meteor Microphone, in addition to the webcam. I find that I talk very fast and with a strange Aussie accent 😛 so an external microphone helped me get better sound quality.
Lastly I use 2 soft box continuous lighting stands, each with 5 bulbs. This is an example of something similar to my set up.
Editing:
For simple editing I use “Movie Maker” which comes with Microsoft Windows. Mac has a similar in house editing program that will suit most of your basic needs.
I use the to trim the beginning and the end of the video, I can also add the intro piece and opening music.
For more complex editing I use Camtasia.
What next:
You can’t just upload your video to your website. You most likely don’t have enough bandwidth to store and for people to watch your video – you will crash your site, which is why video hosts exist.
I use YouTube for all of my video hosting needs at the moment. It is one of the largest search engines in the world and by far the most popular video host.
